I was originally going to do a sausage and egg muffin (mmm) but then I accidentally read some info about their nutrition level and felt bad, so I did a bowl of cereal instead. And made it pink, sugary cereal, with a Gum Gum Person in it, because why not?

I wanted to do a cartoon sandwich and for some reason ended up with this nightmare-inducing monstrosity. I like it!
Since I drew it face-on, it was a bit tricky to show what was on the sandwich (and wouldn’t everything slide out of its, er, butt, anyway?) so I might try a different approach if another sandwich-style prompt comes up.
The background is supposed to make you think of mustard.

A few days late due to acting out one of those gas/bloating/IBS TV ads in real life. Cramps all day and night are not fun!
Prompt #9 is CORN. You might think there is something Zen about drawing a million kernels of corn on a cob, but nope! I did get into the zone off and on while drawing them, though. It kind of hurts my eyes to stare at this.
This was 100% Dry Brush, save for the background.

Yes, I chose a reference that did not look like a penis. I played around with getting the light on the eggplant for quite a while and still don’t like the way it turned out. I think I was trying too hard to mix a cartoon and realistic style, and the end result is kind of meh. If I did it again, I’d probably lean a lot more into the cartoon side of it. Or maybe just put googly eyes on it.
Not hovering.
Brushes used:
Chalk (texture)
Studio pen (black outline, some touch-ups)
Blackburn (main color for eggplant)
Clay (texture on stem)

I have no idea what the malls were like today. With snow on the ground, the high temperature of the day being -6C and the Omicron variant of COVID-19 doing a variation of Oprah’s “You get a car and you get a car and you get a car!” with the entire general population, it seems unlikely the stores were packed.
But people do love a good bargain.
I went for a walk but otherwise stayed inside, warm and content to avoid crowds, plague and things.
I did a quick drawing to celebrate Boxing Day, though. In hindsight, I wished I had put flaps on the box. I mean, I still could, but maybe I should just move onto bigger, better boxes.
I’m also thinking about restarting some art lessons, to better ground myself in the basics. I’m a bit rusty.
