11 days

It turns out it takes 11 days for me to overcome my fear of getting a blood test after the last test did…not go well1Think human pincushion (tracking from when my doctor gave me the sheet listing the blood work to me actually going into the lab to get the blood taken).

The good news is this time (today) was perfectly normal as far as that sort of thing goes. Here’s hoping the results aren’t completely horrible, though the way the year has gone, I am…keeping my guard up.

Also, the happiest blood I could find:

If you wish to have your own happy blood, I got the image here: https://vectorstock.com/13564473

A note on getting blood taken

If they fail to find a vein, repeatedly, on the same arm, the arm in question will end up being rather sore afterward.

I may know this from experience. Experience from today, let’s say. I won’t name the place because I am in a good mood, despite my arm-as-pincushion.

But yeah, the right arm, from which blood was successfully drawn, feels pretty much normal. The left arm feels like it’s been stabbed multiple times. Which it was.

Do not recommend.

A haiku to bloodletting

Today I had some blood drawn for some standard tests prior to my check-up. It could have gone worse, it could have gone better. I’ll edit in the summary I write on Broken Forum. For now a haiku:

Draw some blood for tests
Fasting first leaves me woozy
Some pain then float home
